In Connecticut, the real estate licensure process is controlled by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission, which is located in the state’s Department of Consumer Protection. So, The real estate licensure process in Connecticut is divided into 5 steps.
To meet an experience requirement and get your license, you need to work as a full-time licensed real estate salesperson under the supervision of a licensed real estate broker in Connecticut. Your experience should be a minimum of two years.
Before taking your Connecticut broker exam you need to complete board-approved 120-hour pre-licensing coursework.
Note: Instead of the elective course and appraisal course requirements, you are allowed to provide proof that you have completed a minimum of 20 real estate transactions as an agent in the last five years.

To be able to take the Connecticut real estate broker exam, first of all, you need to prove that you meet the education and experience requirements. You must submit the proving documentation to the PSI/AMP, the private company that handles the examination.
You can find the application at the bottom of PSI’s Connecticut Candidate Information Bulletin. You need to notarize your application and provide all the certificates that will prove your broker education. Also, you are required to pay the application fee of $120.
To inform you about your eligibility for the exam, you will get an Examination Eligibility postcard from PSI.
As you are eligible to take the exam, it’s time to register for the exam by the PSI’s Connecticut real estate exam website.
This is a computer-based exam, that includes 115 multiple-choice questions
The exam has 2 parts:
You have 3 hours to complete the exam, to pass you need to get at least 75%. Immediately after completing you will get the result.

And the final step, after you passed the Connecticut broker exam, to get your license you need to complete and submit the application to the Connecticut Real Estate Commission’s License Services Division. After you have passed the examination, you will receive a copy of your application from PSI/AMP.
Every year for a broker license you need to pay $565.00 plus $20.00 for the Guaranty Fund.
After the first years, to renew your broker license you need to pay $383.00 on even years and $375.00 on odd years. And for a salesperson license is $293.00 on even years and $285.00 on odd years.
